Intervoce / Negotiation Guide

Salary negotiation and employment terms with Intervoce

When the employer says the budget is locked, you need to be able to discuss more than the base salary. Intervoce helps you keep salary, responsibility, benefits, and the next salary review together without losing track of what matters most to you.

Start a negotiation

Good salary documentation makes your contribution concrete: new responsibilities, delivered results, and relevant statistics with source and date. Distinguish between what you want to achieve and what you actually need to accept the offer. Do not use uncertain estimates of the employer's budget as facts.

01 / Prepare

Before the meeting: build a concrete briefing

Attach relevant parts of the agreement as PDF, Word, or text, or paste the material. Distinguish between what you know and what you assume. Prioritize the most important terms so that the advice is based on your actual decision, not just the last reply.

My goals
Specify desired salary and prioritize the whole: pension, bonus, working hours, vacation, remote work, or professional development. Write which parts are most important.
My pain point
Describe the lowest acceptable package and your fallback solution. Keep a private boundary separate from the first bid you intend to present in the conversation.
Background information
Attach employment contract, relevant collective agreement, and concrete achievements. Add dated salary statistics for the correct role, experience, and location if you have access to it.
Known objections
Prepare for objections regarding budget, internal fairness, or timing. Link each objection to factual documentation or a question you want answered.
Other party's background
Describe who makes decisions and what the manager is likely to prioritize: retaining competence, wage cost, or a changed mission. Mark what you do not know.
Other relevant info
Note previous promises, next review, and alternative terms you want to discuss. Do not include colleagues' sensitive personal data if they are not needed.

02 / Negotiate

During the negotiation: keep the whole deal together

Anchor the amount in the mission

If the role has grown, the conversation may need to start with responsibility and results rather than a percentage. The advice can help you tie the salary claim to your briefing and ask for clear criteria. General praise is not a concrete decision on compensation.

Compare benefits without confusing them

Bonus, pension, and leave have different terms and risks. Ask what is guaranteed, what can be changed, and which goals control any bonus. Check tax and pension consequences separately; AI support does not replace that assessment.

Make a deferred decision measurable

If the decision is postponed, try to get the date, responsible person, and assessment criteria in writing. Discuss what happens if the goals are reached but the budget is still missing. A plan for a new conversation is more useful than a loose promise to review the issue.

03 / Summarize

After the meeting: from discussion to the next step

Check the summary and write down what was actually decided, not just what was discussed. Ask for written confirmation of new salary, date, benefits, and any goals. If no agreement exists, document the next step and what you need to supplement before the follow-up.

Transcription and advice in your meeting

Intervoce transcribes the conversation continuously and labels voices with speaker numbers. Speaker labeling and words can be incorrect; check especially amounts, dates, and who made a commitment. With Pro or Poweruser, you also get strategic advice based on the conversation and your briefing. Basic is for transcription and summary, without live consulting.

For Teams, Meet, Zoom, and Webex: open the meeting in the browser on your computer and share the meeting tab with audio in Chrome or Edge. Installed meeting apps are not captured via tab sharing. Use a headset. In a physical meeting, you can use the microphone; overlapping speech and echo make interpretation less certain.

Inform the participants before the transcription and ensure that the processing is permitted; in several countries, the consent of all participants is required. Only attach material that you have the right to process and share with the service's providers. Read the privacy policy before using sensitive information.

The decisions are yours. AI can misinterpret both conversations and agreements and does not replace legal, financial, or other qualified advice. Intervoce does not automatically verify market prices, salary statistics, or the counterparty's finances; provide current sources in the briefing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the AI know what my market salary is?

Not as a verified fact. Add current statistics with relevant comparisons in the briefing. The AI can help you reason about the documentation but does not guarantee a market-rate amount.

Can I use the support in an offer conversation?

Yes. Specify the offer, your priorities, and which terms you need to understand before accepting. Ask for the entire package in writing and review the agreement separately.

Is it appropriate to transcribe with my boss?

Inform the boss and check both applicable rules and the workplace policy. If you are not allowed to or do not want to transcribe the conversation, live transcription should not be started.
